Players. Responsibilities & Rules
1. Work hard, have fun and give your best
effort every time you are on the field for
practices or games.
2. Wear all required equipment (cups guards,
proper shoes & uniforms).
3. Pay attention to the coaches when they are
speaking and giving instructions on or off the
field.
4. Be a team player. Players should learn the
rules of the baseball and play by them at all times.
Learn and develop teamwork, discipline and
Sportsmanship and practice them at all times.
5. Be on time for all games and practices.
Persistent lateness or absence will result in
reduction of playing time.
6. Disrespectful behavior to coaches, referees,
or other players will not be tolerated. The use
of indecent or profane language is
unacceptable. Persistent use of such language
may result in suspension.
7. Fighting, horseplay and any physical or
verbal abuse will not be tolerated. Penalties
include: abusive language or gestures.
Will cause ejection from game, 1st fight.3-game
suspension, 2nd fight. suspension from the
baseball league. No refunds will be made.
Parents. Responsibilities & Rules
1. Be sure that your child attends all practices
and games. Provide or coordinate
transportation to ensure that the player is
prompt when arriving and departing. If unable
to attend a game or practice, you should notify
the coach and/or manager of the team.
Persistent, unexcused absences and lateness
may affect the future inclusion of a player on
the game roster.
2. Ensure that your child brings all equipment
and uniforms to all games, scrimmages and
practices required by the coach.
3. Support your child.s coach, and help when
you can. Disagreements with your team.s
coach do not belong on the public baseball field.
Questions, input and positive suggestions
should be voiced to the coach only in the
absence of the players.
4. Parents are encouraged to come and watch,
but should not shout instructions from the
sidelines. This causes confusion. Players
should listen for coaches instructions only.
5. Parents and spectators for each team should
remain out of the dogout. Parents should
never go on the field before, during or in
between games.
6. Parents are expected to set a good example
for the children at all times by their good
behavior, sportsmanship, attitude and language.
Any abusive language, behavior or physical
assault will result in immediate suspension of
that family from the baseball league
As you already know this is Christian League and we seek to create a safe enviroment where children have respect for themselves and others .
1. Be Positive Role Models: avoid and discourage saying disparaging and negative things to teammates, other team players, coaches and umpires
2. Show Respect: advise coaches about a potential absence and lateness, please be prompt to events
3. Good Organization Skills: teach your children to keep track of their own uniform and equipment and help your children by making sure their uniform is washed between games
4. Team Spirit: encourage your child to cheer for his/her fellow team members and teach empathy by supporting teammates even when things do not go well
5. Reduce Stress: keep from yelling and demeaning your child...minimize your child’s stress
6. Refrain from Taking Over the Coaches’ Role: let the coaches lead the primary instructions for the team players
7. Winning and Losing is Part of Every Competition: good sportsmanship is essential to the positive mental and emotional development of every athlete, so help your child deal with anger management, give them time out when your child loses control and hold your child accountable for actions that display poor sportsmanship
8. Field and Dugout Protocol: parents should not sit or stand in the field and dugout area; when a child may be injured, don’t run out to the field until the injury is determined to be serious, please pick-up all personal food and drink items before departing and avoid distracting behavior during games, which can affect player’s focus
9. Security and Safety: please advise LGA MANAGERS if you notice any suspicious or potentially dangerous situations that might compromise the security and safety of our children
10. Advise Coaches of the Responsible Guardians: in order to ensure your child’s safety, make sure your coaches know the responsible guardians for your child. Once the Manager dismisses your child you must be there to take your child home. Managers or coaches are not responsible for any child after the game .
